What is
Expanding Your Horizons?

Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) is a one-day conference held at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for around 400 middle school aged (6-8th grade) girls from south-central Wisconsin. As part of a small group, each girl attends three career sessions as well as the opening session and closing activity.

Middle school-aged girls come to Expanding Your Horizons conferences to learn about the wide range of career options for women in science, technology, engineering and math. Through hands-on workshops and visits to work places, they find out what it's like to work in different careers. Student participants have a chance to interact with professional women who work in a variety of fields. And they have a chance to meet other girls who share their interests.

"I think its a cool program and would do it again in a heartbeat!" - EYH alumna
